Microsoft Excel: An Introduction to Microsoft Excel
Spreadsheet is application software. This software is used to calculate and evaluate the results. These spreadsheets are made up of a mixture of rows and columns.
Spreadsheets are used to calculate the office, prepare its results, prepare financial report, pay sheet, prepare exam results of students in schools, campuses, world schools.
Lotus 1-2-3, Quatropro, Ms-Excel, etc. are Electronic Spreadsheet programs.
Microsoft Excel:-
Microsoft excel is a very popular spreadsheet software. It can be used after placing Microsoft Office Package on computers. This program has many formulas and functions for calculating and keeping calculations in computer which makes it easy to calculate and process number data.
The files created in this program are called workbooks. Its file extension name is .xlsx.
MS-Excel 2003, MS-Excel 2007 and MS-Excel 2010 are popular versions. This lesson will discuss MS-Excel-2007.

Quick Access Toolbar: -
This toolbar is located at the top left of the Ms-excel window. Its main function is to hold frequently used excel commands. Excel commands can be further reduced according to your needs.
Menu Bar: -
Ms Excel 2007 has 7 tabs (Home, Insert, Page layout, Formulas, Data, Review, View) from Home to View Tab. Home, Insert, Page Layout, Formula and Data are being used more and more. Tabs are made up of ribbons containing excel commands.
Title Bar: -
This Title Bar displays the name of the open document at the top and middle of Ms-excel.
Control Buttons: -
It has four buttons (minimize, maximize, close, restore). These buttons are located at the top right of the Ms-excel window.
Minimize puts the window in the taskbar.
Maximize works to fit the window according to the screen size of the Ms-window.
Close works to close Ms-excel software.
Ribbon / Toolbar: -
Each menu bar has several commands. By clicking on Home Tap we can see cut, copy, paste, bold, italic, underline, and many more commands. Similarly, many commands can be seen in other menu bar.
Dialog Box Launcher: -
The dialog box is used to open other options in the launcher group. It is in the down arrow to the right of each group on the right ribbon.
Name box: -
It shows the location of active cell, row and column.
Formula Bar: -
The formula bar is used to write, view, or edit data, formulas in a cell.
Scrollbars: -
Scrollbars are used to view spread documents vertically and horizontally. You can even scroll up and down with the mouse wheel.
Spreadsheet Area: -
This is the field for entering data. It contains rows, cells, columns.
Leaf Bar: -
The leaf bar is at the end of the spreadsheet software. In which Sheet 1, Sheet 2 are respectively.
Columns Bar: -
This bar is just below the formula bar. Columns are named alphabet letters. Starting from A to Z then gradually increasing from AA, AB. The total number of columns is 16,384.
Rows Bar: -
This bar is on the left side of the formula bar. Row is named by number. Starting from 1 and gradually increasing. The total number of rows is 1,048,576.
Cells: -
Cell means the part where rows and columns interact. The first alphabet letter and number 1 must be understood when writing the first cell address of a spreadsheet. Which can be named A1.
Status Bar: -
Ms-Excel has status at the end of the window. It provides information. It calculates the sum, average, count, maximum, minimum, etc. of the selected numbers in the cell and displays them in the status bar.
View Buttons: -
To the left of Zoon Control are three View buttons (Normal View, Page Layout View, Page Break View).
Zoom Control: -
When working on an Excel sheet, the sheets need to be zoomed in or out. For Zoma control, there are maximizing (+) or minimizing (-) signs at the bottom right of the Ms-excel window.
Sheets can be zoomed in or out using those hints.
