Office Button and its associated Menus
Microsoft Office or MS Office Suite is an all-in-one package of many programs that help us perform tasks related to the office. Such as creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, etc.
Some of the essential software programs of MS Office Suite include MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc. To make all of these software user-friendly and effective, Microsoft has made the user interface of all software the same for common options.
Which makes it easy for users to find commands and tools as well as easy to use. Office Button is one such common option in all software of MS Office Suite 2007.
In this article, we are discussing Microsoft Office Button (also called Office Button). The function of the Office Button and the options listed under it are also defined as follows.
What is an Office Button?
The Office Button is an essential element of Microsoft Office Suite 2007. This button was introduced in Office 2007 with the new Ribbon feature.
When we click on the Office button, it shows some useful options that are used a lot. Specifically, the Office Button gives us options to open, save, print, or perform other simple tasks. Additionally, the Office Button allows us to configure specific Office product settings.

Where can I find an office button?
The Office button is located in the upper-left corner of the Office 2007 program. Such as Ms-Excel, Ms-Word, Ms-Powerpoint etc. in Ms-software. The button is attached to the ribbon which contains the Office Logo inside the circle.
Menu Options under Office Button
After clicking on the Office button, you will see the options or commands as shown in the picture below. I have presented the functions of all those menu options as follows.
New:- This option works to create new, blank files in MS Word, MS Excel, Ms-Powerpoint etc. software under Office program.
Open:- It opens Ms-word files already saved on the computer.
Save:- It works to save unsaved files of Ms-word that have been opened on a computer but not saved.
Save As:- This menu option gives the new Ms-word document file on the computer a new file name and file extension, as well as copying the file to another location on the computer.
Print:- It helps to print the Word Document file on the computer as hard copy on the paper through the printer installed on the computer. It also helps to convert word document file to PDF format.
Prepare:- This menu option works to prepare the file for distribution. Specifically, it serves to view and modify the document properties of the document. It also encrypts, restricts, and adds digital signatures. In addition, we can see the hidden metadata of the file by using it.
Send:- Using it to send or share the opened file with other people. Specifically, we can share documents via email. It has been renamed as 'Save and Send' in Office Suite 2010. To do this, you need to create a profile in Microsoft Office Outlook.
Publish:- This menu option works to make the article you write a blog and publish it to the public through internet.
Close:- This will close the document opened in Ms-word software.
Note:- The Office button has been removed from Office Suite 2010 and later Office Suite. Even if removed, those menu options still exist and have been moved to the 'File' tab under the menu.
